First Edition
First edition of the first Discworld novel in the author's acclaimed series, in the rare first issue dust jacket with the publisher's corrected blurb pasted on the front flap. Octavo, original cloth. Near fine in a near fine dust jacket. The first edition is reported to have comprised 500 copies, but 400 of these were seemingly issued to libraries within the United Kingdom. Rare. A writer who has been compared to Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, and Douglas Adams, Sir Terry Pratchett has created a complex, yet zany world filled with a host of unforgettable characters who navigate around a profound fantasy universe, complete with its own set of cultures and rules.

First Edition
First edition, first impression, and scarce thus, of the first Discworld novel, in the first issue dust jacket with the publisher's corrected blurb pasted on the front flap. The first impression is said to have comprised 500 copies, with 400 of these seemingly issued to libraries in the UK. Copies in collectible condition are highly uncommon, fine copies such as this especially so. The printed overlay found on the front flap of most copies was pasted over the original blurb as a result of inaccuracies spotted when the jacket was returned from the American printers. Colin Smythe, "The Colour of Magic", Colin Smythe Limited, accessible online. Octavo. Original green boards, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. Minor rubbing to head of boards, faint foxing to edges; gently rubbed jacket not price-clipped, cover bright, spine panel sunned: a fine copy in near-fine jacket.
