Item Description: Berkeley, 1974. Paperback. Book Condition: Fine/Near Fine. Pirated Edition. Second Issue of the first Pirated Edition, two volumes perfect bound in glossy white, grey, pink and red wrappers (with the faux magazine cover design), as issued. Unauthorized edition. Very Near Fine set. Volume I: 88pp. with Chronology at end. Fine but for a faint smudge to upper right corner of front cover. Volume II: 107pp. Near Fine with small brown stain to lower fore-edge of first three leaves of text. Both volumes clear of any writing or wear. This pirated edition was suppressed soon after it appeared. Now, over 40 years later, and six years after his death, these stories still have not been published in book form. Published in magazines during the 1940's (except for "Hapworth 16, 1924") they feel dated, but still show the special Salinger tone. Very uncommon. Q09102. Bookseller Inventory # Q09102
