Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Garth Williams (illustrator). First Edition. With single date on copyright page and no publisher's seal, so probably a second printing. Newberry Award Runner-Up for 1961. Book is fine and unmarked. Jacket is price clipped and has a 1/2x3/4" chip at the bottom inside corner, about 1/2" away from the spine, but is otherwise very good, clean and bright, and attractive in its archival Mylar jacket cover. Uncommon in any early printing due to high demand.

Puffin. Penguin Books. UK. 1963. Paperback. First edition. A sweet little book from Newbery Honor Award winning author George Selden and the illustrator of classics such as 'Charlotte's Web'; the 'Little House' books (Laura Ingalls Wilder); Stuart Little and so much more. A very careful owner protected this paperback with a clear, strong cover which is still as strong and protective. As a result, the marks from tape used have left marks on the paper opposite front and back but this has kept the covers in great condition. The contents are a little age-toned but without writing etc. The illustrations are great. The story revolves around a little cricket who befriends a mouse and a cat. Not exlib and packed and sent with care.
