Frontispiece medallion plate engraved via medal ruling machine; xix, 112 pages; 1 additional medallion plate engraved via medal ruling machine. Cover has some wear; plates with mostly marginal staining; else near fine. A scarce work by an early English coin dealer. Till (d. 1844) practiced his trade at 17 Great Russell Street, which had been a famous salon and card room of the 18th century. His book on coronation medals is perhaps most notable for being illustrated with two plates executed via the medal rule machine, which used a pantographic technique to produce the most accurate and detailed numismatic illustrations of its day.
