Leather Bound. Condition: Very Good. Bound in maroon leather with gilt stamped covers, all edge gilt, three backbone hubs, Masterpieces of Science Fiction endpapers, and satin bookmarker sewn in. Light wear and isolated scuffing to gilt along top and bottom edges. One shallow bump along top edge of rear panel and mild shelf wear to bottom edges. One tiny nick to leather on rear panel. Pages are smyth sewn in to the binding for permanence. Page edges are gilded. Moire fabric endsheets and satin-ribbon place marker sewn in. Dark reddish brown leather with much gilt decoration. His classic novel and basis for several films. This is not the Memorial Edition. This was probably printed late 90's, early 2000's. Been in my collection approx twenty years bought direct from publisher and never before offered for sale. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

This memorial edition of Dune was sent as a gift from MBI Books/Easton Press as a gift for James Gunn for his contribution towards the remembrances written about Frank Herbert. Donated from the Estate of James Gunn, this copy includes the letter included to Gunn from the MBI Office that was kept inside this book on his shelf. There is also an unused book plate and collectors note. It has all the usual Easton Press bells and whistles: genuine leather binding, archival quality paper, 22 kt gilt lettering/decorations, and a permanent ribbon marker. Spine has raised bands. The only sign of shelf wear is on the gilded edges of the bottom leaves, not visible from the front. This book does not have satin endpapers.
