SIGNED first edition - First printing,a slim chapbook. Love poems by this first century B.C. Latin poet, who was a supporter of Brutus and had his estates confiscated and who died young, translated and with a brief prefatory note by David R. Slavitt. SIGNED on the colopon page, which notes that this is part of an edition set in twelve point Times Roman by John Hoffa, printed by Robert Wallace in an edition of 370 copies, all signed by the translating poet . . 333 copies have been saddlesewn into Fabriano covers on which a copy of the etching has been printed from a zinc engraving. Unpaginated (14 pp), printed in dark brown and red. Very good+ (corners slightly bumped).
