A detailed, very sympathetic view of Mexico, from the feminine viewpoint. Much detail is paid to recipes, marriage and courting customs, household practices, etc. Having lived in Mexico from 1880 - 87, fluent in Spanish, she made the effort to make contact with Mexicans in all layers of society.
