About this Item: Yale University Press, New Haven, 1955. First published in November 1954, this is a third printing from January 1955. Hardback. 4to. xxix, 889pp. Brown cloth boards with red panel to spine, printed in gilt. No jacket. Reduced facsimile reproduced from the First Folio in the possession of the Elizabethan Club of Yale University. This copy, which formerly belonged to Henry Huth (an English collector, 1815 - 78), was purchased in 1911 by the late Alexander Smith Cochran and presented to the Library of the Elizabethan Club. The size of the original type page has been reduced by about one fifth. To ensure maximum readability stains were removed whenever possible without interfering with the text itself, but no other retouching has been undertaken. This does mean that , because of printing irregularities in the original, an occasional word or phrase may be difficult to read. This facsimile has two paginations: the original numbering at the top of the page; and a new, continuous pagination supplied by the editor at the foot of each page. Very good condition. Boards generally a little rubbed and lightly soiled. Some light spotting to spine. Slight bumping to corners. Some spotting/soiling to text block edges (mainly upper). Some minor spotting to endpapers, otherwise clean and unmarked internally. Binding very sound. Book. Seller Inventory # 1305373
