Hardcover. Condition: near fine. Clarke, Harry (illustrator). 1st ed. 1st English edition as stated. 4to, full blue cloth with gilt decorations, 12 full color and 12 B&W plates by Harry Clarke. Very much in the style of Clarke's Tales of Mystery and Imagination from just a few years earlier. He obviously put a lot of effort into completely decorating these popular fairy tales, in his best decorative style. An uncommonly bright copy with untouched gilt decoration on the cover. The spine is very slightly faded with very minor wear at the top and bottom, and on the book's tips. One of the color plates has a minor crease at the bottom margin, not even near the artwork. Moderate foxing throughout, else near fine.
