With fifty-six illustrations, some full page, by Emily J. Harding. Cloth a bit dull, a solid, very good copy. #611. $65. Twenty traditional fairy tales collected from the Slavic countries. Aleksander Edmund Chodsko (1804-1891) was born in Russia of Polish parents and became a noted philologist of Persian and Slavic subjects. The source for the present translation was his Contes des Paysans et des Patres Slaves, first published in 1864. Nice illustrations, with some resemblance to the style of Walter Crane.
