About this Item: Puffin, New York, NY, 1998. Soft Cover. Condition: NEW. Quentin Blake (Illustrator) (illustrator). Reissue. BRAND NEW COPY w/faint margin discoloration and trace edge wear to upper front edge. Children's novel, first published 1974. British novelist, poet, screenwriter, and fighter pilot Roald Dahl (1916 - 1990) was celebrated for stories for children. Fable of tricky and clever Mr. Fox who "steals" from three farmers to feed his brood. The farmers (mean and cruel temperament, and dim-witted) --- engage fat Boggis, squat Bunce, and skinny Bea --- resort to tractors to dig up the fox's tunnels and sit an wait. Meanwhile, Mr. Fox relocates, continues to steal food and is so successful that he is not only able to feed his family but neighboring critters as well. A complex and thought provoking tale of predatory survival in our equally complex and predatory world, as well as one of wit and will. Seller Inventory # 012925
