Order now for BEST SAVINGS* Berlin: Carl Albert Kindle, 1939, a later issue of the 1932 edition published on the one hundredth anniversary of Goethe's death; large quarto (leaves 25.5 cm. tall), [iv], 221 (including the Boehn essay with illustrations in text, some mounted), 449 (main text in red and black) pp., publisher's boards decoratively and pictorially stamped, vellum finish spine, and top edge red to suggest a period binding from the time the story is set (Den handgebundenen Einband schuf die Buchbinderei des Askanischen Verlages); light soiling to the white spine, book plate and signature of a private owner on front pastedown, age speckling at fore and bottom edges, the jacket not present; still a very good copy.
