This elephant portfolio book with 27 original lithographs is hand SIGNED by Federico Righi (1908-1986) in the colophon; ALSO one of the lithographic plates is also hand SIGNED in pencil by the artist at bottom right, limited edition of 155 numbered copies (this is #47); all the 27 original lithographs sheets are loose as issued by publisher, each illustration is full page with their plate numbers on opposite page; book & plates size: 13-3/4 x 17-1/2 in (weight 10pds); from publisher: "THE ART OF LOVE, translated by Rolfe Humphries copyright 1957 by Indiana University Press.ILLUSTRATIONS COPYRIGHT Ferdinarnd Roten, Inc. Baltimore, Mariland 1970", the COLOPHON states: "The printing was finished in Dec. 1970 on Paper Acqueforti from the paper mill Ventura in Milano; the type was set in Garamond Corpo 20, printed at the Grafiche Erredici in Padova; the text pages were designed by Edizioni Lint in Trieste; the 27 original lithographs of which 25 are in three colors 1 in two colors and 1 in one color were especially created for this book by Federico Righi; the lighographs were printged by hand on the presses of Alberto Caprini Stampatore in Roma."; missing the cardboard slipcase; the spine has sunning, and the thick illustrated wrappers have some rubbing and a few tiny nicks to edges; the interior endpapers have some creases to edges and some browning; otherwise the interior text pages, the signed plate, and other plates are in VERY GOOD COND.
