About this Item: 1983. Hard Cover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Truly an exotic among exotics'. The 250LM was the last Ferrari to win the Le Mans 24 hours - in 1865 with Jochen Rindt and Masten Gregory at the wheel. Elsewhere it became one of the iconic sports racers of the mid 1960s, raced widely by privateers including David Piper and Maranello Concessionaires in Britain and Europe, NART in the USA and Scuderia veloce in Australia and South East Asia. Most of the great sof the erta drove one including Graham Hill, John Surtees, Pedro Rodriguez and Lorenzo Bandini.Blessed with the same V12 engine that sat up front in the 250GTO it was Ferrari's first mid engined 'production racer' and intended to be a GT car.but for once Enzo was unable to convince the authorities that he had built enough of them to qualify.only 32 had been constructed and they are now among the most valuable cars anywhere on the planet. This great book is very rarte and includes the full design development and racing history, year by year and car by car though each evolution until it finally fell out of front line use in the early 70s. Masses of photos and recollections from owners and drivers.196 pagesThis desirable book is in very good condition , not perfect, and the jacket is very good with slight sun-fading on the spine and a tiny repaired nick (3mm) along the back top edge (see photos).
