First edition. Ruscha's 13th book. Black paper covers with no titling. 14 photographs of palm trees, mostly in Hollywood, with locations noted on opposite pages. Approximately the last half of the book consists of blank pages, as issued. 17.8 x 13.9 cm. Minor wear at extremities; the original owner's name neatly printed inside the front cover; otherwise near fine. A piece of personal trivia: the last time I looked, the first palm tree in the book still stood around the corner from where I grew up in Hollywood, in the 1900 block of North Bronson Avenue. **Free domestic or international shipping with direct order.

"A Few Palm Trees" is Edward Ruscha's thirteenth photographically illustrated artist book - a charming black and white survey of fourteen palm trees inhabiting the City of Angels. A bright, most handsome example of the 1971 first and only edition (entry B13 in Siri Engberg's "Edward Ruscha: Editions 1959-1999" which is also cited on pages 198-201 of The Hasselblad Center's "The Open Book", page 104 of "From Fair to Fine 2", and page 224 of "From Fair to Fine 3") limited to three thousand, nine hundred copies issued without a glassine wrapper additionally SIGNED "Ed Ruscha" in blue ink across the top of the front free endpaper showing just the most minute bit of wear and handling to its still-glossy black covers.
