VG/None. First edition/1st printing ("War Edition" stamped on title page). Here is a delightful set of WH Robinson pen and ink drawings in his early classic art nouveau style. The cover illustration is dated in the plate '1916', and truly represents a Forest Fantasy. The title page maintains the mood.According to Beare entry #93, the first printing is distinguished by having 'War Edition' stamped at the top of the title page. The music was often reprinted later, including in a more elaborate coated paper stock with black binding, but this is how it first appeared. It has had some use, the two staples have some rust stains, and the pages have some dog ears and edge wear and light wrinkling from use, but overall it is quite complete with no prior owner marks but for a few musical notations in pencil (for fingering, etc.).Overall a very collectable copy of the first printing.
