Satirical cartoon drawings with captions which first appeared in Punch magazine:"Here is something which should satisfy everyone with a sense of humour-and of the ridiculous." Original publisher's cloth binding in pink with blue lettering and small cartoon drawing. Dust jacket design also in pink with a cartoon drawing of a draughtsman. /Cyril Kenneth Bird CBE (1887Ð1965) known by the pen name Fougasse, was a British cartoonist. He was perhaps best known for his work in Punch magazine (of which he served as editor from 1949 to 1953) and his World War II warning propaganda posters; "Careless talk costs lives" was one of the most popular. He also designed many posters for the London Underground. Very good in near very good dust jacket. Dust jacket slightly used and chipped at edges.
