8vo, 195pp. A good hardback copy in an edgeworn dust jacket. This is the story of show business - with a difference! It tells the heroic and often tragic tale of a handful of men, who defying all obstacles, presented a series of stage productions on what must have been the grimmest circuit of all time, the Burma-Siam "Death" railway.

Hard cover dust wrapper, 195pp. Dw is chipped and worn with some tears (some of which have been taped on reverse) and small pieces missing on edges. Some nibbling on edges. Foxing. Now protected. Spine slack, some foxing. Small pen mark on fly. Else good. Carter was an Australian civilian working for the Department of Information in Malaya at the time of the Fall of Singapore. He attempted to escape, but was betrayed and (with an honorary commission to disguise the propaganda potential of his civilian radio occupation) was imprisoned with the 8th Division prisoners. This tells of his experiences organising entertainment for the fellow prisoners in a variety of camps including Changi.
