About this Item: New York: Simon & Schuster, 1947, 1947. First Edition. Cloth frayed and soiled; only good, but an association copy, inscribed to her editior, Peter Schwed, 'To Peter - who wouldn't take Ôno' for an answer. Gratefully, Laura Z. Hobson.' Made into a film of the same title which was directed by Elia Kazan and starred the not very Jewish-looking Gregory Peck, which was, of course, the point. All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted. Seller Inventory # 24775
