Reprint in Facsimile of the 1886 American edition of Garrison-Morton 14 (citing 1st ed., 1849). The original appearance of Adams's famous edition--"the last English edition of the Hippocratic writings intended to serve as actual medical instruction"--was in 1849, published by the Sydenham Society in England. Adams's "Preliminary Discourse" is pp. 1-153. This "Preliminary Discourse" was not included in some editions of Adams's translation published after 1929, but it is present here.
