Although Joseph Henry Jackson's death occurred before he completed the manuscript of his last book - the gruesome and puzzling slaying of pretty high school girl, Blanche Lamont, whose nude body was found in a belfry where no bells had ever rung - he had collected the entire court transcript and newspaper coverage of the crime on microfilm. The crime rocked San Francisco society, and the trial which followed was one of the longest and most controversial in California history.
