About this Item: Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1952. Hard Cover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Printing. First Beat novel. Being sold mainly for the dust jacket. The book is a First Edition with an "A" on the copyright page. Both the front and back covers have the marks of old scotch-tape at the covers' ends. I don't know what the purpose was, because there was no attachment to the dust jacket. There is also a 4-1/2 inch piece of yellowed scotch tape crossing the endpaper. There are some stains to the outer edge of the text block, with a few small stains on some pages' margins. Both the spine and the covers have very good, unworn edges, with a slight whitish discoloration to the lower edge of the spine. The spine is very clean and bright, without any sunfading. In an immaculate, very crisp, unworn dust jacket that has perfect edges, with only two, hardly noticeable, 1/8 inch closed tears to the top of the back panel. There is some very light creasing to the spine ends, and to some edges, mainly from the owner keeping the dust jacket in a plastic wrapper. The flap has the $3.50 price, and the back panel has a photograph of the author, with a very short biography. The previous owner kept his collection of Beat books in closed cartons, so there is no sunfading, but the book has a slight musty aroma. Seller Inventory # 14813
