About this Item: London Eyre & Spottiswoode 1950, 1950. First edition. Inscribed by Peake in green to the front endpaper: "For Stephen from Mervyn 1954". The book is firmly bound in clean read cloth, lettered and decorated in gilt to the spine, the gilt has tarnished slightly and the corners and spine ends are a little bumped. The text block is toned and slightly dusty with minor marks. The dust jacket is the original and not price clipped, it is toned, more so to the spine, slightly rubbed and marked with nicks and short closed tears to the edges. Quite a nice first edition example of the second title in the trilogy, uncommon signed. Seller Inventory # 3823
