Antique 3.5" x 2.5" hand signed photo for Tommy Fields entertainer and brother of Gracie Fields?who has personally autographed the souvenir where his signature rest perfectly accompanying his portrait which has some reverse ageing (just the other side) otherwise bar mild surface etc in great condition (overall vg+) and a very rare opportunity to secure a signed photo of Tommy Fields obtained from a collector who had great contacts with Gracie Fields (please see his other items at my store).Tommy Fields (28 June 1908 3 June 1988) was a British actor, variety entertainer and music hall performer. He was the younger brother of Gracie Fields.In 1926 Tommy Fields joined his sisters Gracie and Edith as the principal comedian in Archie Pitt's new revue By Request, and when they were joined by accordionist Nino Rossini (19011965), he and Tommy Fields decided to form a new double act, Fields and Rossini, with Tommy Fields playing the violin and performing eccentric dancing and Rossini playing his accordion and performing comedy. During 1928 and 1935 Fields and Rossini toured South Africa with Gracie Fields before joining Archie Pitt's new revue, The Shows the Thing, in which he sang three solos, "I Wish She'd Come Along Now", "Connie in the Cornfield", and "I Ain't Certain".Throughout the 1930s Fields and Rossini met with success, playing at various venues, including the London Palladium on the same bill as Gracie Fields. They played at other variety theatres including the London Coliseum, the Hackney Empire and the Holborn Empire. In December 1937 the duo appeared in the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk at the Empress Theatre in Brixton in which Fields played Dame Trot. In 1939 he recorded two songs with his sister Gracie, "Two Sleepy People" and "The Umbrella Man", and in 1948 "Papa, Won't You Dance With Me?".

A letter thanking Tudor-Craig for the letter and award of the CBE. Dame Gracie Fields 1898-1979 was an English actress, singer, comedian and star of cinema and music hall who was one of the top ten film stars in Britain during the 1930s and was considered the highest paid film star in the world in 1937. She was known affectionately as Our Gracie and the Lancashire Lass and for never losing her strong, native Lancashire accent. She was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) and an Officer of the Venerable Order of St John (OStJ) in 1938, and a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 1979.[Major Sir Algernon Tudor-Craig 1873-1943 was a British Army officer, heraldist and author of various works on art history, especially armorial porcelain. Tudor-Craig was an officer in the 4th (militia) battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles. He served as Instructor of Musketry with the 8th Provisional Battalion in 1902. From an album of his letters. Autographs late 1940s early 1950s Signatures include:Graham Greene, Werner Heisenberg, Dick Henderson, Tommy Trinder, Ann Ziegler, Gracie Fields, Winifred Atwell, Harry Secombe, L A G Strong and about 20 boxers from the period, some of them champions. The Green signature reads: 'For Fred Bason who seems to crop up everywhere from Stockwell to Oxford to Cecil Court. From Graham Greene.' The Weisenberg autograph is loosely inserted on a deckle edged card. Fred Bason (1907-1973) was An English Bookseller, Writer And Broadcaster Most Famously Known For His Collection Of Diaries That Were Published In Four Volumes In The Early 1950s. Very good. Very slight wear. Signedes.
