The dust jacket is now protected in a mylar sleeve. The Grapes of Wrath is an American realist novel written by John Steinbeck and published in 1939. The book won the National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize for fiction, and it was cited prominently when Steinbeck was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1962. Part of the publisher's series of facsimiles of modern literature, in exact replicas of their 1st edition state, complete with dust jackets, and any first edition points that existed. Laid in is the FEL (First Edition Library) single sheet notes, which outline the the conditions of the writing of the novel, the issue points, and the reception of the novel at time of publication. All dust jackets are true facsimiles, except for "FEL" on the rear inside flap.
