About this Item: J. B. Lippincott, Phila, 1951. Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. First Edition. 1st printing. Cloth. Endpaper maps. Former owner signatures on the front paste down & the ffep. One of the modern classic books on ranching in Western Canada, Hobson's acclaimed first memoir in an eventual trilogy. "This true adventure story tells of the successful exploration of the unknown land beyond the formidable Itcha, Algak, and Fawnie mountain ranges in the heart of British Columbia" (north of a line between Bella Coola & Alexis Creek). This copy has two marks on the front cover. Each is an inch long and is a narrow white line, part of a fortunately incomplete circler. The dj is split completely down the edge of the backstrip & the backstrip is tattered and chipped. About all you can say about this dj is that most of it is there (front and back panels and tattered backstrip). We have placed it protectively as best we can in a dj protector. Herd 1043, Whale 618. This edition very scarce. Seller Inventory # SHEL1009
