Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition/Stated First Printing; A Very Good Book in a Very Good dust jacket. A handsome copy of this now classic of World War II memoirs; an account of the author's experiences on Guadalcanal and Peleliu; now the basis for the outstanding miniseries "The Pacific". This copy is in very good condition with a square, tight binding, sharp gold lettering over blue and black boards, and clean pages throughout; the book does show some minor staining and spotting to the boards and some mild off-setting to the pastedowns. Housed in a clean and bright very good dust jacket that shows minor rubbing and chipping to the spine ends and corners, some moderate fading to the red stripe on the spine, and some soiling to the back panel. Overall, a presentable and collectible copy, despite the flaws, of an uncommon title. Not remaindered, not price-clipped ($3.95 intact), not ex-library; in a protective Mylar cover and will ship securely wrapped in a sturdy box.
