Feuillet de titre bruni avec ex-dono de Duchesne en pied, mouillure angulaire, galerie de vers marginale avec atteinte à quelques lettres, quelques feuillets annotés. Bel exemplaire en plein veau glacé, dos à nerfs orné de filets dorés et fers au noir, date dorée en pied, double encadrement au noir sur les plats, fleurons en écoinçons, roulette sur les coupes. Reliure du XIXème, signé Messier. Petit accroc à la coiffe en pied et aux encoches de coiffe, usures au dos, plats tachés. Brunet précise "que des trois volumes que devait avoir cette collection, il n'est paru que celui-ci, lequel est fort recherché et se trouve difficilement". Ce recueil dédié au Clergé, au Parlement et au Peuple de Rouen contient 17 textes, chroniques, annales d'historiens normands rédigés en latin, dont Abbon, Orderic Vital, Dudon de Saint Quentin. Bel exemplaire en plein vélin ivoire à recouvrement d'époque, dos plat, petit manque au vélin au niveau du titre avec desquamation de la peau, lacets absents. Brunet précise "que des trois volumes que devait avoir cette collection, il n'est paru que celui-ci, lequel est fort recherché et se trouve difficilement". (titre, dédicace au clergé de Rouen, préface, titre de relais), 1104 pp., [8] ff. n. ch. d'index et de colophon, maroquin vieux rouge, dos à nerfs cloisonné et fleuronné, encadrement de triple filet doré sur les plats, armes au centre, double filet doré sur les coupes, tranches dorées sur marbrure, dentelle intérieure (rel. du XVIIIe s.). Cette immense compilation des historiens anglo-normands et italo-normands devait comporter trois volumes, mais seul celui-ci est paru, limité à l'Angleterre, et figura dès le XIXe siècle parmi les plus rares et les plus recherchées des compositions de Du Chesne (1584-1640). Ici, l'on trouvera les chroniques antérieures à Rollon, le poème d'Abbon sur le siège de Paris, l'oeuvre d'Orderic Vital, la Chronique de Normandie, les Annales de Saint-Etienne de Caen, etc. Brunet II, 856.
