Vorliegend beide Teile (komplett) des sechsten Bandes, welcher die Ordensgeschichte von 1616-1633 behandelt und 1750 und 1859 in Rom erschien. Dieser zweite Teil des sechsten Bandes (für den Zeitraum 1625-1633) wurde erst 1859 publiziert, es war der letzte Band der Gesamtreihe . - "In chronologischer Folge werden die Ereignisse, und so auch die Missionstätigkeit des Ordens, behandelt. Bis herein in unsere Zeit ist diese Historia das große Geschichtswerk des Jesuitenordens geblieben" (Streit). Die erste umfassende Geschichte der Gesellschaft Jesu und zugleich eines der bedeutendsten Werke zur Geschichte der Missionen, besonders im ostasiatischen Raum. - Die Metallstücke der beiden Schließen im ersten Teilband fehlen, sonst sauber und sehr gut erhalten. The Pars Prima was first published in Rome in 1614, the Pars Secunda in Antwerp in 1620. We have here the '' Pars Quinta Tomus Prior et Posterior'' complete in two volumes in first edition. This fifth volume (first part) covers the period 1581-1590. During this period Claudio Aquaviva became head of the order and the Jesuits set up their mission in China with Matteo Ricci. The volume is fully indexed. This fifth volume is edited by Pierre Poussines (1609-1686), a French Jesuit called to Rome in 1654 to continu the work of Sacchini who had died already in 1625.
