About this Item: Spiral/Comb. Condition: New. No Jacket. Henry Howe (illustrator). Limited Edition Reprint. Early days in Medina County, OH, including the communities of Medina, Lodi, Liverpool, Wadsworth, Seville and Chippewa Lake, are recalled through a mixture of colorful tales and factual data in this NEW 19 Page Booklet reprinted from the 1892 Centennial edition of Henry Howe's Historical Collections of Ohio, The Ohio Guide (a 1940 WPA Writers project), and other hard-to-find sources. The spiral-bound booklet is photocopied one-sided on 60# paper with the fine print enlarged for easier reading. A sheet of clear vinyl has been added to protect the front cover. Among the many and diverse subjects in the booklet are: Early Settlers; Development of Medina; the Booming Bee Business; the Great Hinckley Hunt; Clearing off of Virgin Forests; a Mailman's Experience; and the Tri-county Sleigh Ride Competition of 1855-56. GENEALOGY BUFFS will find a list of 1888 county officers and businesses. A 1933 look at the history of newspapers in the county, a map showing the 88 Ohio counties and a map of 1805 Ohio are also included. Seller Inventory # 000352
