Item Description: 1st ed [James Blow], Belfast, 1713. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Small4to, xv, [i], 564, [10 - index] p. Contemporary brown full polished calf. Professionally restored with a new matching backstrip with five heavy raised bands, gilt on black lettering piece, antiqued endpapers. Fore-edge of last two leaves strengthened, old ink writing on front blank and 'most curious and scarce' 'the Dividson's book', 'Mex Stuart' and 'the author Dr. Kirkpatrick' in same old ink on the title, general light browning otherwise a VG presentable copy of a rare very early Belfast printing, often stated to be the first major work printed in Belfast. This copy has leaf ooo3, it was later cancelled to fix the erroneous page 569 instead of 469. First edition. Bookseller Inventory # 14251

Item Description: James Blow, Belfast, 1713. Leather. Book Condition: VG. 1st Ed. Bound in dark brown decorated leather in 18th century style. The spine has been recently recased to match. No author, No publisher or place mentioned as Kirkpatrick feared for his safety. A warning against the pretender and other dissenters. A rare book, well written using sources no longer available, as much of the reference material perished in the following centuries. 564 pp plus 10 page index. Ink inscription dated 1713 on front prelim.: "For The Lady Logan from her affect. Bro.r: & most humble servt. Alan Dallway. Bella Hill 20th January 1713/14." Doggerel poem in ink on rear endpaper by later owner. Some worming to the outer edges but none of any great depth. Size: 8 Vo. Bookseller Inventory # 18809
