About this Item: O.L. Baskin & Co. Historical Publishers, Chicago, Illinois, 1880. Hard Cover Leather Binding. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Most of these old histories have been either rebound or replaced with a newer (1970's) cloth edition from a company such as Unigraphic. Both are good, but there's nothing like the original. This one is very beautiful and of a nice size - -8" x 10-1/2". As you can see from the pictures, there has been rubbing with loss of small areas of leather from the top layer at spine. There was also a tear at the bottom of the outer hinge at the front cover only -- the other side is pristine. The tear has been repaired and is holding nicely. The pages are clean and tightly bound with no cracking to inside hinges. Book is also gilded on all three outer edges. Text is clean and is illustrated throughout. Total pages --840. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Seller Inventory # 23451
