There's some light rubbing at the edges and there's some light soil at the edges; otherwise this beautiful book is fine. The boards are covered in a fine dark green cloth with stamped titles and designs on the front and spine. The titles are gilt on the front blind stamped on the spine. There is an elegant dark blue and gold stamping in the front center with an open gold book with a list of countries names. There is a chapter for each decade describing the historical high points. Then a series of chapters written by various military, political and academic authors with titles such as "Coming Wonders of the Twentieth Century", "The Scientific Achievements of the Century", "The Yellow Peril: China at War with the World", etc. It has over a hundred black and white plates with many portraits of the rich and famous.
