Both volumes in similar condition. Rubbing to edges, corners bumped and rubbed. Volume I shows a dampstain to lower front edge which tips the lower margin. Does not affect text. From the front endpaper through page six have come free from the binding. Previous owner inscription dated 1890 to front endpaper of both volumes. Volume II the front endpaper has come free from the binding. Text in both volumes is clean and bright with no marks, evenly tanned. Each volume has eight illustrations, including frontispiece. Spine tips slightly repaired. Covers of volume one reattached, showing small amount of matching cloth. Spine gilt dull. Inner hinges slightly foxed, plates slightly foxed, o/w a very good, clean and tight set. Old library stamps at bottom of few pages.
