Early printing of this well-written history of the world, with special interest on the added section in Vol. II on the induction of California into the United States in 1850, and extensive section on the California gold rush and mining opportunities. In addition, there is an interesting section on the territory of Utah, the reports composed by Dr. John Bernhisel (1799-1991), original delegate of the Utah Territory in the US Congress, with descriptions of the Great Salt Lake, the Great Basin, Great Salt Lake City, and the development of agriculture and industry in Deseret.
