Condition: Very good plus. Third printing of this charming Dutch bedtime story about the busy lives of little star fairies, with lovely deep blue celestial endpapers. When the earth goes to sleep, the star fairies begin their adventures. A rare and beautiful picture book, in an artistic style that merges Golden Age figures with Jugendstil compositions. 11.75'' x 8.75''. Original cloth-backed color pictorial boards with gilt elements. Gilt and blue endpapers of shooting stars. Eight full-page color lithograph illustrations. [9] leaves with ads to recto of rear flyleaf. Early owner name to top margin of title page. Binding with light soil and edgewear. A bit of fading to joints of endleaves. Leaves with scattered soil to margins. Colors bright.
