Trade Paperback. Condition: Near fine. Second Edition. One of the most important and popular books in the Chicano literary canon issued originally by a university-affiliated Latino press. Cisneros was out of the country during the copyediting process and the publisher made some changes to the text that Cisneros didn't like. This "second revised edition" incorporated some, but not all, of her requested fixes. A near fine copy in the original wrappers (paperback) with wrap-around artwork. This copy is nicely inscribed by Cisneros, "Para el Tomás [Tom Garner], el big abanico [fan], abrazitos, Sandra Cisneros. 8.27.93. San Toñito de Bexar." With a torn ticket to the event where this book was signed laid in.

Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This is an advance reading copy released prior to the first edition of the English language Vintage edition in 1991, which was the paperback original. (It was later published as a hard copy by Knopf in 1994.) This copy is in very lovely condition with negligible shelf-wear. Pages are clean, tight and crisp with the cover bright and sharp-edged with no creases. Miss Cisneros signed the dedication page (it's not easy to understand her writing) "Para el John con Esperanza, Sandra Cisneros, 5/13/91 Chgo." (Author grew up in the Hispanic quarter of Chicago. This is her first novel.) A very nice copy for the discerning collector. Signed by Author(s).
