Allied Newspapers Ltd, Withy Grove 1942 First Edition 196pp Illustrated Hardback. This copy is bound in illustrated paper covered boards with a red linen spine There is some bumping to the corners and some shelf wear to the bottom edges but otherwise the binding is tight. There is some occasional light spotting throughout. There is a small neat inscription to the f.e.p. dated 1924 The cover depicts a girl in white riding kit on a horse bearing down on what looks like a Zulu warrior complete with knobkerrie, shield and aseghai. The back cover has an advertisement for Ovaltine Tonic Food Beverage. There are seventeen stories illustrated in full page colour plates and black and white drawings with one called 'The Guides and Roger' written by Elsie Jeanette Oxenham (12pp) Ref Z1 Size: 196pp. Bookseller Inventory # 009068
