This is number 38 of 1,000 printed. 13 full page illustrations, 9 pages of photographs, 67 illustrations in the text. Bound in publisher's quarter maroon leather with marbled endpapers and a gold and black spine label and gilded top page edges. Previous owner's initials stamped in gold on front cover by publisher. Previous owner bookplate on front pastedown. Spine slightly slanted, faint thumbprint on page egdes. Unclipped dust jacket is bright with minor wear. This title was privately published by the author, our copy comes with author's marketing materials, 2 letters from author to previous owner, and an invitation for previous owner to attend book release part at Holland & Holland in London. This expensively made book was printed on matt art paper and originally cost 170GBP in 1993.
