First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First English edition. Translated by P.D. Cummins. Top corners bumped, else very good in near fine dustwrapper with a little age-toning, and a couple small nicks and tears. Author's fourth book, like the first three, set among the lowly of Egypt. Very nicely Inscribed by the author in French to American expatriate author James Jones and his wife Gloria. Although Cossery did a limited and signed edition of another title in 1981, we have never seen an inscribed copy of one of his books, let alone with such a nice association.
