Testatine e finalini incisi in legno, 11 illustrazioni nel testo incise all'acquaf. raff. l'antica pianta dellaÂchiusa, la chiusa come si presenta in quel momento, l'armamento dei marmi sopra il fondo di sostegno, la forma delle porte di sostegno, la pianta del sostegno e il disegno in prospettiva, il disegno delle casse per divertire l'acqua del Mincio, la forma delle medaglie poste nelle fondamenta, ecc. Legatura novecentesca in mz. pg. con tit. oro al dorso. Seconda edizione (ed. orig. 1609) di questo trattato sulla costruzione della chiusa di Governolo costruita nel 1198 per far sboccare il Micio nel Po, divisa in due nel 1394 da Francesco Gonzaga come dimostra una lapide inÂcaratteri gotici collocata nella torreÂpoi distrutta. In seguito, nel 1608, il duca Vincenzo Gonzaga sotto la direzione di Gabriele Bertazzolo, prefetto delle acque e autore di quest'opera, fece porre le fondamenta del sostegno. Questo garantiva la regolazione del deflusso delle acque del Po al fine di mantenere il livello dei laghi attorno alla citta' alle quote dovute e poteva anche servire a contenere a valle le acque rigurgitanti del Po in piena. E' l'opera più imp. del Bertazzolo (1570-1626) nato a Ferrara e attivo alla corte del Duca di Mantova. Questa seconda edizione è preferibile alla prima apparsa nel 1609 con le inc. xilogr.
