Item Description: Chicago: The Imperial Publishing Co., 1884. Hardcover. Book Condition: Fair. Large hardcover. Tan/yellow cloth over boards (maybe it was gold at one point, who knows?) with decorative gold and black stamping on spine and front cover. Boards are beveled with marbled endpapers. Ditzy floral endpapers. Frontispiece with tissue guard, with multiple other "elegant" illustrations throughout. Title page dated 1884. Copyright dates 1881 and 1883. 811 pages. This book is very sturdy -- the binding is strong, the pages are clean, with no foxing to mention -- but the exterior looks a bit rough and worn. The cloth over the spine is split near the front cover, and hangs loose. There is fabric loss around edges and the bumped corners poke through. Overall, this book can be read easily and repaired easily. This is an oversized (and overweight) book. Extra shipping charges may be required for international or priority delivery.
