Filled for one Peter Wheeler on April 24, 1860 with marginal highlighting and questions answered with numbers written in ink. Item Description: White & Potter, Publishers,, Boston:, 1853. First edition.. 12mo, original red cloth, gilt lettering, iv, 76 pages. Reading completed in pencil for Edward B. Whiting on Feb. 28, 1854 by phrenologist C. Frentz. From contemporary publications, Townsend appears to have been active at times in both Erie, Penna. and Rochester, N.Y. Pencil scribbling in a juvenile hand on the front page of text. Cordasco 50-1848 (noting in its copy a reading given by Charles Frentz on Feb. 2, 1854). Some rubbing, spotting and soiling; a good, sound copy. Bookseller Inventory # 17630
