Publisher's teal paper-covered boards, spine and upper cover lettered in brown, cream typographic dust jacket lettered in red and priced $2.00. Fine, square, and tight, with virtually pristine pages; about Fine jacket (spine panel lightly toned). A superior example. Rolph B15. Collects six poems, including first book appearance of "Do not go gentle into that good night." In 1951, "when Thomas's father was dying of a cancer that had been diagnosed in 1933 (the early poem 'Take the needles and the knives' alludes to D. J. Thomas's radium treatment), the poet composed 'Do not go gentle . . . ,' a stark, moving cri de coeur: 'And you, my father, there on the sad height, / Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tear . . .
