About this Item: Little, Brown & Company, Boston & Toronto, 1961. Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good-. 1st Edition. Stated 8th printing. 8vo., 145x215mm, 145pp. Original red cloth boards with device blind stamped to bottom corner of front board and black titles to the spine. The original dust jacket is not price clipped showing $3.75. The book has been inscribed to her aunt and uncle and signed by the author. In addition, a Christmas card (printed in Canada) in the author's hand has been tipped in to the front. The boards are in near fine condition. The titles are bright, fresh and crisp, all fore edge corners are firm and sharp. There is very light spotting to top edge of the text block. The binding is tight and square. Internally, the pages clean, bright and fresh other than the title page which is inscribed as follows: 'To aunt Elsie and Uncle Charlie with much love from Sheila'. There is a small band of acid migration at the inner hinge and a few spots around the Christmas card tipped onto the ffep. There is a short note inside the card in the hand of the author and it is signed 'with love and good wished, Sheila & David'. The book appears unread. The original Carl Burger illustrated dust jacket is a little spotted and has a 1x2cm chip at the centre of the top edge of the front panel. The spine panel is darkened and there is a little loss to the spine ends. In all, a very presentable copy of a book later to become a Disney classic, with the scarce signature of the author. If you would like further information or images, please let us know. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 000906
