About this Item: Queens Printer, Ottawa, Ottawa, 1970. Card Covers. Condition: Good Only. First Edition. White wraps. viii, 237 pp.; with glossary, index at rear. Not a pretty copy but in government-printed, sturdy condition - as one typically finds copies of this classic of drug policy literature. The Le Dain Commission of Inquiry into the Non-medical Use of Drugs was arguably the last piece of truly sensible drug policy to be produced by any North American Government; naturally this landmark report, along with a comtrmporary U.S. counterpart was not only ignored but immediately suppressed by the governments who commissioned them. Within a year of its publication (the Final Report of the Commission appeared in 1973) , then-president of the USA, Richard Nixon launched the War on Drugs. After 40 years of this unwinnable war, it is vital for all of us to consider the disastrously pandemic human conditions we have created by failing to act wisely upon many of the recommendations within this work Size: Pocketbook Format. Drug Literature. Seller Inventory # 001977
