Item Description: Istarsko knjizevno Drustvo Sv. Cirila I Metoda, Pazin, 1952. Soft Cover. Book Condition: Age Browned. No Jacket. Istarska Danica, is a catholic calender that was founded 1924 in Triest by J. Grasic, I. Pavic, V. Sironic, M. Zlatic and B. Milanovic, founders of Društvo Svetog Mohora za Istru, that was also its first publisher. It was banned from 1940-1947 (banned by Italian authorities) and from 1954-1971 (banned by Yugoslav authorities) Between this two periods it was published in Pazin where B. Milanovic and Društvo Svetog Mohora za Istru moved.(from 1947 it changed its name to Istarsko književno drustvo Svetog Cirila i Metoda). In 1971 publishing was moved to Zagreb, (issue for 1972 was banned) and from 1973 is published regularely. Contains very interesting information on weather, astronomy, history, agriculture, etc. In Croatian, 128 pages. Cover picture: Beram, view form Gortan hill, and below is glagolic enscription: Slava va visnih Bogu (Glory to God). Calendar. Bookseller Inventory # 001767
