Pencil underlining on few pages. First fourteen pages partly detached from binding. Page 397/398 fore edge tattered - no damage to text. Some pages coming loose from binding. Text block edges slightly worn. Pages yellowing and rough-cut as published. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare first edition of a novel about an exotic Jewish community is in good reading condition.
