Blue buckram boards with gilt title on spine and gilt medallion with Masaryk's profile on front board. Rear board has gilt publisher's colophon. Top edge gilt, other edges uncut. 80 pages, tissue protected frontispiece of both sides of the gilt Masaryk medallion. This is number 287 of a limited edition of 500 copies. It is printed on cream wove hand made paper; print 16 point Monotype Bembo. On one of the prelims there is the dedication " for J Y Dempster, in gratitude R H Bruce LOckhart Boat of Garten June 11, 1951." This book was printed during Febraury 1951. *** DUST JACKET in very good condition, Small stain on front and nick at lower edge at the back. ***CONTENTS The author (1887-1970) was acquainted with Masaryk (1886-1948) , the Czech diplomat from about 1919, and this memoir reflects the author's admiration for Masaryk over this period.
