Item Description: National Gallery, Ministry of Culture, Athens, Greece, 1990. Cloth. Book Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. Popi Tsakiraki {Art Director} (illustrator). Second Editiion. "Experts have always stressed Spyropoulous's bond with Greece and particularly its landscape. But it is not widely known that he has dedicated a series of his paintings to the workers and their world, and his relationship with and interest in workers does not end there. As an officer of the Workers' Fellowship he has creativity contributed to the realization of its goals for a number of years. Thus, feeling it is our duty to present his work, we have undertaken the publication of an album on the painting of Jannis Spyropoulos, a painting which started off simply and unobtrusively and his now achieved world-wode recognition. In this way we fulfill yet another obligation to the primary beneficiaries of the activities of our organization: the workers. Up to the present we have offered them better ways to dispose of their free time through organized excursions, tourism and the like while at the same time affording them the opportunity to become acquainted with the artistic life of the country, principally by means of theatrical performances." {Theodoros K. Drosis}. This book has 303 pages and is profusely illustrated. Overall, a FINE copy with FINE dust jacket of this MOST SCARCE title. Bookseller Inventory # 047467
